@cookie parker - I agree. It's because the Right has become so far right now that it has forced the minions to push their values a little further to the red. To be Republican, it seems you have to have the following traits:
1. You HAVE to hate mexicans and ignore statistical facts regarding the economy and legal & illegal aliens.
2. You MUST argue against anyone who may want a waiting period for purchasing weapons and who wants to prohibit open carry in parks and schools.
3. You MUST yell about government spending but then spend government money on seeing strippers and having elaborate dinners (this one is for the politicians alone).
4. Anytime a republican politician comes up with catch phrase, you must latch on and get pissed about it.
5. You must be racist. (they love that one).
6. You must subscribe to this mentality that the poor people in this country are just lazy and leaches.
7. You must view the military as expendable thus sending them into war wherever you feel there might be terrorists. It is their 'job' to do so and you should feel no responsibility thereof.
8. Taxing the rich is a sin. Albeit 95% of the people who oppose this are middle class-ish and it is against their best interest, doesn't seem to matter.
9. You must believe there was never slavery and that being a patriot has something to do with the REBEL flag. (figure that one out).
10. This is a free country and you should be allowed to do whatever you want only if you are: Catholic, republican, white, NRA member, and against the concept of global warming.
